If they had cooperated, they could have all enjoyed the mysterious music machine. But greed got the best of them all and power currupted them until one was left. Unfortunately he was on the edge opposite the music box which was on the other edge. The last guy can't get to the box because it would tip the platform and the box would go over the edge. If the box goes over the edge he'd never be able to go to an edge (he'd be limited to near the middle)! So he's stuck now in one spot... alone!

I agree... I saw this in 1992 or so when I was like 21 ... it really struck me back then as an amazingly powerful symbolic work. I've often wondered where I could find it since then and now today I see it once again!
