If you could read into the future or acurately analyise the past you could tell when 'Happenstances of History' would take place , if not convoluted , things would work out fine , for example :

If the SS where more aware that Booth shot Lincoln in a theatre and was captured in a warehouse , they might have avoided the TSBD in JFK's limo route . Being that Oswald shot JFK from a warehouse and was captured in a theatre :-)

If I understand you right & I don't think I do , the closest I can come to aswering your implied Q is that by looking into the past , you see a reflection in a mirror . That reflection is the future . Be careful not to stand in the way of the reflection because you'll see only yourself , the center of the universe , a biased outlook clouded by humans being self centered by natural instinct .

The only thing 911 points to is that terrorist got a hold of some nasty weapons. How did that happen? Probably the Pentagon Bureaucracy.

I can see it now.

Rumsfeld: "Terrorist are going to attact us in the future."

Bureaucracy: How do you know this?

Every big event is going to cause some retrocaustion. So assuming we have some smart people somewhere keepin us safe, they are going to know that you cant stop an event once it's impacted the past. (or can you?)but you could lessen the effect of the primary event to some extent. Rockafeller knew something was up but not the exact event. On top of everything else, events become less random. Uncertainty principle at the quantum and plausible deniablity at the classical.
