Someone forced the Army to give them Atheist tags back in the 60s, but the policy never changed. I heard Penn Jillette talk about it. He knows the soldier, and has the guy's atheist dog tags now.

Not necessarily. Some of us don't care if there's religious references on currency, or prayers at graduations. tradition is tradition, and doesn't hurt me.

I only got pissed when they insisted on putting "no preference" on my dog tags instead of atheist. There's a big difference, and I went to the mat over it. I have no problem with religion, just don't want it forced on me. Not all Christians are loons, nor atheists.
