You forget. Lightsabers use crystals that create concentrated beams of light. It's like putting a stick on fire, then using it to sear your cut closed.

not so, even when its closer to the shoulder than heart it will still probably puncture too many vains or a main artery, also the chopped off arm would definately block off an artery and restrict blood flow. even if by some miracle he lived he would still get knocked out.
