Me and my best friend decided to go through rush together and i knew nothing about sororities. I pledged Kappa Delta and love every single one of my sisters. Its a different kind of bond that is irreplacable. I definitely suggest you find a house that suits you. If you havent already! good luck!

I agree! I hated the idea of friends that were girls and ended up in a similar situation. I stepped out on a branch and went through recruitment. I pledged Alpha Xi Delta and have never been happier! BUT!! IF you decide to go through, go through having done your research. be open minded. and only pick the one that is best for you!! otherwise you will hate it! but i strongly suggest doing it! you aren't paying for friends you are paying for experiences! I wish you luck in you decision!

jamsandwich1, its so annoying to hear people say that. its true, fraternities and sororities arent for everyone. you're not buying your friends. because, the people that stand to become your friends arent getting paid. your money goes to funding the fraternity/sorority. i myself didnt join a fraternity, but i have a lot of friends that did at the university of colorado, and they loved it. it was the right choice for them. but, dont make yourself look ignorant with comments like that.

also, when you meet these girls make sure you can get past the fakeNess, most of these sororites that u listed have huge pledge classes which means more money for the sorority. Also look at the pledge class numbers most of the sororities have huge pledge classes which means they just pick girls who are interested not girls who truly are right for the sorority.

you are thinking about joining for the wrong reasons. others experiences with in a sorority should not influence your decision. you should go to the sorority functions in which u are interested in and see if you like the girls. also you should research the sororities online and see if you agree with the the values the sorority upholds. I was apart of sigma kappa and I hated it. I joined for the wrong reasons. and found that a lot of the members were fake and had attitudes.
